As an international trade organization for fresh fruit and vegetables, The Greenery is active in various branches of the food market. The Greenery represents over 500 growers. With a healthy passion, fresh fruit and vegetables are provided daily at retailers, caterers, wholesalers and industry, among others.
The Greenery's classic data system no longer met today's needs. There were fewer visual options and metadata had become contaminated over the years. Packaging changes rapidly, which is why a complete database is important for the process. There was a need to work more efficiently, visually and quickly.
In collaboration with The Greenery's buyers and planners, the daily users, an analysis was made of the current situation and the needs for Artwork Connect. The most important points for improvement for the system were: the speed of the system, visibility and findability of packaging data, and structure of the packaging data.
Artwork Connect (AWC) has been specifically designed to meet the needs of The Greenery. The updated data has been imported to AWC, classified and can now be easily found via the extensive search function. The recognition of packaging information has also been increased by adding an artwork preview. With AWC, users can now manage packaging data easily, quickly and in a structured way.
“Harvested today, in store tomorrow” is one of The Greenery's promises. Artwork Connect (AWC) supports the department responsible for purchasing and distributing all packaging materials that The Greenery's affiliated growers and packaging companies need every day for (small) packaging vegetables, fruit and mushrooms. In order to serve customers properly, you want to be able to act quickly. A database where you can quickly search and, above all, find it is essential.
All products require packaging, from trays to boxes, and must be provided with the correct, up to date information. Product information can change frequently and quickly. In order to properly manage all changes, an efficient and complete database is important. The classic system no longer met today's standards and was contaminated with redundant information. This has created the need for an update.
The set-up of AWC was preceded by a thorough analysis, with the aim of working quickly and pleasantly. This always takes into account the wishes of the users who work with Artwork Connect on a daily basis, the buyers and planners of The Greenery. We looked at the existing data, what information is needed in the future and what information is no longer needed.
The analysis showed that old data was contaminated by system limitations and that there was little visual help in searching and finding data. The existing information has been cleaned, classified, enriched with additional information and validated before it is posted for future use. This careful approach has improved data quality.
Throughout the process, we provide a clear plan of action. Here, attention to the process and users comes first. The users are trained and, even after commissioning, they can contact the service desk with questions.
